Yūgen - Bamboo Forest

If you are interested and would like to know more about the Yūgen project, visit the post on my blog ( https://www.artstation.com/blogs/cesarsakon/v3pKO/y-gen-my-life-in-japan ) where I explain the inspirations and motivations, as well as check out the other parts of the project in my portfolio.

I first visited the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (嵐山竹林) when I traveled to Japan as a tourist in 2017. Bamboo is a plant present in the daily life of Japan in various forms such as ornamentation, fragrances, food, and art. Therefore, a tribute to bamboo had to be included in this project.

I did this project entirely without using any external assets like Quixel Bridge and Megascans. The PBR materials were created 100% procedurally in Substance 3D Designer. Some foliages were created using photos I took of leaves and processed the outputs in Substance 3D Designer. All models were made in Blender, and the environment was assembled and rendered in Unreal Engine 5.3.

I hope you enjoy it and Feel free to comment.
